Soul Savior

I never dreamed when we first met
and I saw your perfect face
That we'd be here, our lives entwined
our hearts in love's embrace

Until our lives became as one
my own did not exist
The night grew long, the years passed by
no meaning to persist

I saw you there in day's gray hue
rains freedom from the night
Your chocolate eyes that dared to see
my secrets in the light

You didn't run or hide from me
my dark black soul-less eyes
You chose to stay and challenge fate
and saw right through my lies

Your mind a secret, thoughts unknown
my useless powers wrong
You woke me up and made me see
what I'd searched for so long

Your heart beats fast when I am near
if mine could sing for you
What I would give to breathe your air
there's nothing I can do

My life was taken long ago
my soul lost on the way
I will not let you give yours up
there's nothing you can say

I would not ask you for your life,
for you to pay the toll
But instead of losing everything
you've helped me find my soul

And now we dance forever changed
my stone heart still beats true
with rain or sun at heaven's gates
I'll be there next to you.

A New Moon

A New Moon
I stand in moon beams, your eyes glow warm
My heart is safe, you mean no harm.

In your embrace I'm safe at last
Your lips on mine, the minutes pass.

What changed so quickly, my world is done
You've run from me, no moon nor sun.

Alone and broken, cheeks stained with tears
My heart in pieces, my worst of fears.

I ache and mourn my loss each day
My life is dark, can't find my way.

I stumble through, the months crawl by
I hear your voice and wish to fly.

You saw me there in waters deep
You couldn't know I dared to leap.

And now you mourn your fated loss
We fear to lose what I have lost.

And so I run, the future known
The sun is high, you stand alone.

I call your name, you do not hear
The crowd is thick, they taste my fear.

You take a step into the light
I reach you then, beg you to fight.

You take a breath, I've won this race
The battle comes, our souls embrace.

New danger lurks, you hear their minds
Again we fight to save our lives.

The tunnels deep, their weapons strong
A promise made, won't wait for long.

I will not lose my heart's desire
Your love, Our life... My Ice, Your Fire.

Nightmares

Nightmares

The night approaches, darkness looming
My sun and diamonds fade
The nightmares await, desperate to descend
A heavy blanket weighs on my heart

In weakness, I submit
and allow my eyes to close
My fear and anguish appear from a mist
I've nowhere to run, no voice to scream

I accept my fate, a choice is made
Down this path I walk, fearful footfalls
A cloaked visitor meets me on my way
My name is known, blood rushing, no disguise

I'm still alone, I cannot hide
There's too much to lose, time is short
A few last breaths, my air gone
I fall deeper into darkness, a black pool

My hands grasps for a rock, my anchor
My strength in desolation
A constant in the swirling waves of night
The heat of suffocation chokes me

And then... at last, a cool breeze
a refreshing breath of air
My lungs fill, my head is clear
I see you in the light... an angel alone

My marble prince, my one desire
has saved me from this hell
He is my air, the breath I take
My sweet and steady sun

As dawn approaches, stars fade to gray
I awaken from my terrors
Gazing down at me, your amber eyes
The golden doorway to our souls - We dance
